Phishing: Is Your Staff Prepared?

Phishing

What is Phishing?

Phishing is one of the biggest threats to your business’s cyber security.

Phishing is where a hacker sends you an email that is pretending to be from someone else.

They’re trying to get someone to click a bad link. So, the hacker can install malicious software. Or worse, the hacker gets into your network to prepare a ransomware attack, where your data is encrypted until you pay for its return.

Would a phishing email fool your staff? Let’s find out.

A great way to find out is by doing a phishing simulation.

Wahaya IT can create realistic emails from you, a supplier, or another source that your employees trust.

It would be a fake email with small clues that some employees will spot, such as grammar errors and generic email signatures. For example, the email will look like it is from the marketing director but the email address could have small differences from the real one. The fake email could be from .com as opposed to .org.

You’ll get to see who marked it as spam and who was fooled by it and clicked the link. That way, you can identify whether you need to give everyone more cyber security training.

Software can only protect you to a certain level. The primary protection against phishing is training your people well because they are your first line of defense. Your employees need regular training to keep them effective.

Wahaya IT can help you assess your defenses and train your team to protect your business.
